What Warm Audio WA-MPX Does
The WA-MPX is a single-channel tube preamp based on the 351-style circuit used in American tape machines. It has three vacuum tubes, custom-wound CineMag input and output transformers, and up to 90 dB of gain.
Sound and Workflow
Its selectable all-analog tape-saturation circuit adds harmonic distortion and natural compression, while the input impedance Tone control and filters shape the result. Use its line input to process an external signal path as well as its mic or instrument inputs.
