What Warm Audio WA-2A Does
The WA-2A is a transformer-balanced, high-voltage optical compressor inspired by the classic 2A circuit. Its fully discrete signal path combines four tubes, custom CineMag input and output transformers, and a Kenetek T4B opto attenuator.
Sound and Workflow
Use its Peak Reduction and Gain controls to shape line-level material with slow, program-dependent optical compression. Rear-panel pre-emphasis allows high-pass filtering in the compression path; the unit can be stereo linked with a second WA-2A.
