What VHS Waves Does
SampleScience recorded 30 hardware-synth sounds onto old VHS tapes and turned them into a playable software instrument. It provides multi-LFO, filters, room reverb, and polyphonic, monophonic, or legato voice modes.
Sound and Workflow
Play the tape-degraded synth sounds as an instrument in a compatible VSTi, VST3, or AU host on Windows or macOS. The creator does not name individual source synth models.
Analog Gold Take
A direct route to synth sounds actually recorded on VHS, rather than a clean instrument with a VHS-styled effect added afterward.
