What VCR Wave Ableton Live Pack Does
Brian Funk recorded the Teenage Engineering OP-1 Dr. Wave synth to VHS, then built 40 Ableton Live instrument racks and a separate VHS Health audio-effect rack from those recordings. Each instrument layers its source sample with an adjustable VCR-noise chain.
Sound and Workflow
Play and reshape the synth parts with Live rack macros, or process other sounds with the included effect rack. Requires Ableton Live 10.1 Standard or later; this is separate from the already-listed 80s VHS Synths Ableton Live Pack.
Analog Gold Take
Choose VCR Wave for one OP-1 digital synth passed through VHS, not the broader multi-synth palette of 80s VHS Synths.
