MSXII Sound Design and Akai Professional built this expansion around 24 dedicated MPC kits and more than 450 samples. The material includes drums, soulful chords, bass, brass, Rhodes-style keys, vintage synths and vinyl noise. Its kit programs are set up for making beats in the MPC environment.

Sound and Workflow

According to the makers, drum hits and melodic samples were processed with outboard gear and transferred to Ampex two-inch tape. Each program also has a master chain using AIR Flavor/Flavor Pro for extra character inside MPC. Audition the store audio sample before choosing whether the processed kits suit your sound.
