Soloist

What Soloist Does

Soloist captures a vintage ARP Pro Soloist in 1,690 samples and 86 Kontakt patches. Its presets span instrument-like brass, woodwinds and strings as well as leads, arpeggios and short sounds. Channel-strip controls and the FX Sculpt section provide ways to shape the sampled performances.

Sound and Workflow

Wrongtools played and sampled the original keyboard note by note through an analog signal chain rather than modeling it. The current 2.5 version builds on those recordings with updated performance and sound-shaping controls. You need the full retail version of Kontakt 6.4.2 or later, not the free Kontakt Player.

Analog Gold Take

Pick Soloist when you want the sampled character of this specific 1970s preset synth, especially for expressive leads and unusual instrument-like keys.
