What M1 Does

KORG recreates the original M1 AI synthesis system using its PCM data and software-modeled circuitry. The instrument includes 3,300 programs spanning the original M1, its expansion cards, and related M1-family sounds.

Sound and Workflow

Browse presets by instrument and sound character, or use EASY mode and the expanded effects to shape a patch. This is KORG’s official software instrument, not samples recorded from a third-party hardware unit.

Analog Gold Take

Choose M1 for the late-1980s PCM piano and organ palette that carried into 1990s dance and pop, rather than a generic retro-synth preset collection.
