What Low Heat 404 XL Does

Low Heat 404 XL is an Ableton Live audio effect rack inspired by SP-404 effects. It combines stock Live devices for vinyl simulation, lo-fi color, tape delay, loopers, filtering, reverb, pitch shifting, slicing, phaser and chorus. Sixteen macro controls and snapshots let you change effect settings while working or performing; a separate Vinyl Sim rack is also included.

Sound and Workflow

The rack brings sampler-style effect changes into an Ableton session without requiring an SP-404. Low Heat says it works on individual instruments and samples as well as on the master for performance. It requires Ableton Live 11.1 Standard or higher and can be mapped to a MIDI controller.

Choose 404 XL if the sound you want comes from switching and combining sampler-style effects in Live, not from a single tape or vinyl emulation. The included standalone Vinyl Sim rack is useful when you only need that slice of the larger setup.
