Field Cassette

What Field Cassette Does

Rephazer made Field Cassette for the Teenage Engineering OP-1 Field. It contains three multisampled drum kits, 12 multisampled vintage instruments and 35 single-sampled instruments, for 50 sounds in total. Load the kits and multisampled instruments in the drum sampler and the single-sampled sounds in the synth sampler.

Sound and Workflow

The creator focuses on cassette recordings with background noise and imperfections for an atmospheric, worn sound. Vintage sources named on the product page include Orchestron, Mellotron, pianos and Rhodes. The download is a ZIP of .aif samples made on OP-1 Field firmware 1.3.2; the creator does not confirm full OP-XY compatibility.

Analog Gold Take

Pick Field Cassette for playable, cassette-colored sounds on OP-1 Field rather than a generic audio pack or an OP-XY-ready preset library.
