What D-50 Does

Roland models its D-50 using the original sampled waveforms and Digital Circuit Behavior technology. Its Linear Arithmetic synthesis blends sampled attacks with synthesized tones and includes the original presets, effects, and joystick.

Sound and Workflow

Browse the factory sounds or use the virtual PG-1000 controls and SysEx import to reshape patches. A Roland Cloud account and internet connection are required for installation and activation; this software is not a library sampled from a physical D-50.

Analog Gold Take

Choose this when you want the D-50’s specific sampled-attack and synthetic-pad blend, rather than the later PCM workstation sound of the JV-1080 or TRITON.
