What Bone Chain Does

Bone Chain gives producers 200 brass-synth Kontakt instruments built from 2,355 samples. Its patches cover sustained notes, sharp stabs, leads and drones across ten sound categories. An XY sound-shaping control, sample-start slider and modwheel-responsive patches add ways to reshape performances.

Sound and Workflow

Wrongtools recorded brass-inspired synth patches through tape machines, amps, guitar pedals and modular hardware, so these are processed synth sounds rather than realistic orchestral brass. Load the .nki files in the full retail version of Kontakt 6.4.2 or later; the free Kontakt Player is not supported.

Analog Gold Take

Pick Bone Chain for tape-worn synth-brass stabs or dark, moving textures, but check the full-Kontakt requirement before buying.
